Overview

Urinary incontinence or urinary leakage involves unintentional passing of urine problems. It can affect many people. It is the leakage of urine that the person canโ€™t control. It can be very embracing for the person affected by that problem.

Causes of Urinary Leakage

  • A bladder diary is maintained by observing the amount of urine that comes out in comparison to how much you drink. Then, the urge to urinate and several incontinence episodes are taken for observance.
  • Postvoid residual measurement- The patient will be asked to urinate (void) into a container to measure urine output. Then, the doctor checks the amount of leftover urine in the bladder using a catheter or via ultrasound test. A large amount of leftover urine in the bladder would mean an obstruction in the urinary tract.
